City of Westminster tour with a private guide (up to 4 hours)

Power and pageantry

  • Big Ben

  • Westminster Abbey

  • Buckingham Palace

  • Hidden Streets

  • Ideal for first time visitors to London! We start in Parliament Square, the seat of Government, with one of the most iconic sights of the city, the tower of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Find out how they keep this famous clock accurate and the workings of the British government. See the statue of Churchill and hear stories of the great man.

There follows an optional tour inside the magnificent Westminster Abbey, a place of coronation of Kings and Queens for almost 1000 years and burial place of over 3000 royal personages, poets, writers and scientists. Pay your respects at the tombs of Elizabeth 1, Charles Dickens and Isaac Newton and see the glorious Henry VII chapel.

We then make our way via atmospheric c18th backstreets and hear tales of gossip and intrigue – political, royal and religious. We will see a former home of Lawrence of Arabia and reminders of World War II. Passing some striking modern architecture we continue to one of London’s most beautiful parks.

Find out more about the Royal Family as we pass royal palaces including Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s London residence. We can show you the best place to experience the Changing of the Guard as we tell you about the soldiers who guard the Queen.

Why not combine with a walking tour of St James's Aristocratic London
